The First Film Club launches with Mike Leigh's BLEAK MOMENTS

Ever since I went freelance, I've been looking to create something fun for the film community and six months ago I teamed up with two stellar women, Natalie Gothelf and Tolu Akisanya, and we came up with an idea: The First Film Club.

The concept is simple. We celebrate the work of established and emerging filmmakers by hosting screenings that would showcase the very first films they've made. For the established filmmaker it would be their feature film debut and for the emerging filmmaker it's their first short. After each film has screened both will join together for a Q&A to discuss their process and experience of first entering this creative field.

I'm so happy to confirm that our inaugural event will feature the great Mike Leigh and his debut BLEAK MOMENTS along with Florence Keith Roach and her short film A FAMILY AFFAIR.

Taking place at 7.30pm at the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley, it's a night not to be missed.
